ABOUT
Background
Born in Tehran, I grew up in a family where my love of the arts, music, dance and litrature was developed. I came to southern California with my family for high school/college education and never left.
In search of a way to express myself musically, I accepted the band manager's offer to join the POP group called HOBOB as the lead female vocalist. I noticed the difference between the style of music and overall philosophy of the group with what was "mainstream" rightaway. Those of you who remember HOBOB agree that it was a new chapter in Persian Pop music in the late 80's early 90's. The final formation of the band consisted of five members: two married couples and two brothers. It was an extensive project that took over three years from the time I joined to complete and the result of that project was an album produced by Mr. Farrokh "Elton" Ahi which was released by Caltex Records in 1989. A short time after release of the album "Baroon e Hobob" we held a concert at the "Palace" in Hollywood in 1990 which also marked the end of the group project.
